WHAT I LIKED: Well I think it's safe to say Garfield deserved that nomination, as this guy delivers one heck of a performance as this extremely admirable hero. Hacksaw Ridge is also a film that achieves technically in many ways too - with excellen... Read the full review »
WHAT I LIKED: X-Men: Days of Future past is genious; but mostly it sticks out because the story makes for previously impossible character development that surprisingly rounds out these younger versions to a level of greater depth and interest. It'... Read the full review »
WHAT I LIKED: Damien Chazelle's 'Whiplash' made you so nervous you could burst, but the beauty of his 'La La Land' is that it manages to play with all of your emotions. I cried, I felt empathetic for the leads, I felt reflective, but most of all I... Read the full review »
WHAT I LIKED: I thought Whiplash would be a great drama with awesome music, but nothing prepared me for what I actually experienced here. Yes at his mere age, Damien Chazelle managed to deliver something as raw, intense and brutal as I've ever see... Read the full review »

WHAT I LIKED: Watching 'The Great Gatsby' is like watching a brilliant West-End pantomime, as it has you grinning from ear-to-ear yet strangely hooked in the world and story too. That's made possible by the simple brilliance of its mystery and rom... Read the full review »
WHAT I LIKED: The most striking thing about 'The Prisoner of Azkaban,' is the aesthetic difference brought by esteemed director Alfonso Cuaron. The look of the whole piece is visibly darker and grander, the camera swoops dynamically around the set... Read the full review »
WHAT I LIKED: Doug Liman's 'The Bourne Identity,' doesn't generally get the same credit that Paul Greengrass' slightly more political franchise efforts often do, but in actual fact this is where the revolutionary stylistic approach really came fro... Read the full review »
WHAT I LIKED: The now-called 'Cornetto trilogy' concludes to the standard of 'Shaun of the Dead' and then some; bringing even more depth than we saw in the first instalment. This is probably Wright's most layered and intelligent film of all actual... Read the full review »
