The Woman in the Window (2021)

5 / 10

For all the potential “The Woman In The Window” had to be the ‘Rear Window’ or the ‘Disturbia’ for the pandemic age, it’s safe to say its own ambition was misplaced. If anything, its derivative reliance on Alfred Hitchcock right down... Read the full review »

Natural Born Killers (1994)

6 / 10

When Natural First Killers starts off, you get the sense you've walked into the wrong screening. This isn't the film you wanted! Why is everything at a Dutch angle? Stop cutting for Christ sake and show me a shot from an actual movie! But, if one... Read the full review »

Paddington 2 (2018)

9 / 10

As any sequel should, Paddington 2 not only lives up to its predecessor but takes its plot and characters to new places. Paddington and the Brown family return along with a host of new characters, notably Hugh Grant's egotistical thespian Phoenix... Read the full review »

Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)

5 / 10

Don’t know nothing about Those Who Wish Me Dead; all I know is it’s supposed to be a Western Neo-noir thriller about a traumatized smoke jumper protecting a boy who’s on the run from contract killers. And I found out this is also from the di... Read the full review »

The Paper Tigers (2021)

6 / 10

Gotta give thanks to A.B Nayar for bringing this movie to my attention and putting “The Paper Tigers” on my radar. Me and my Grandma are suckers for well choreographed, hard-hitting, balls to the walls action set pieces as well as the influenc... Read the full review »

Bringing Out the Dead (1999)

7 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: From 'Taxi Driver,' to 'After Hours,' Scorsese has made a number of films throughout his career that paint the city as a lifeless, heartless place. But the line between its living and dead has never been blurred quite so much as in h... Read the full review »

Paradise Now (2005)

8 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: Hany Abu-Assad's 'Paradise Now,' lends a masterfully humanist perspective and insight into the Palestinian struggle, and for that reason it couldn't be a more important film for everyone to watch right now. It follows two young Pale... Read the full review »

Kundun (1997)

4 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: Most of Melissa Mathison's exposition-laden script for 'Kundun,' simply serves to go through the motions of its story about the discovery and early life of the 14th - and current - Dalai Lama in early twentieth-century Tibet, and the... Read the full review »
