God's Own Country (2017)

8 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: Francis Lee's 'God's Own Country,' is a masterful portrait of pent-up loneliness and frustration which follows a depressed farmer's son in Yorkshire finding some human connection with a new worker on the farm. We open up seeing the c... Read the full review »

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

5 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: Brosnan proved himself in Goldeneye as an edgy, confident Bond with bags of cool, and we get more of the same in 'Tomorrow Never Dies,' as he saunters around the place looking like he owns every room - be that the inside of a stealth... Read the full review »

GoldenEye (1995)

6 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: After the longest break in the franchise's history, many expected Martin Campbell's 'Goldeneye,' to be a complete series reboot, and whilst we'd really have to wait until his 'Casino Royale,' for that, it is arguable that this is the... Read the full review »

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965)

8 / 10

WHAT I LIKED: Le Carré is known for his intricately-constructed twisty espionage stories populated by problematic protagonists, and 'The Spy Who Came in From the Cold,' is the epitome of that. Martin Ritt's big-screen adaptation works very well b... Read the full review »

The Lighthouse (2019)

8 / 10

The Lighthouse is an atmospheric movie. The plot can be summarised in one line, that being simply; two men are left alone and go mad. While the film arguably has more meat than that, it is an experience of a film. With the claustrophobic aspect ra... Read the full review »

The Godfather: Part II (1974)

9 / 10

A grand epic that surpasses its predecessor with a brilliantly acted dual-narrative. In part two, the highs barely rival the horrific lows which seem to spit on the grave of the original godfather, Vito Corleone. Pachino is electric, constantly bu... Read the full review »

365 Days (2020)

2 / 10

I remember during my CATS Zoom call that Evan Markov and Carlos Cordero briefly talked about the film “365 Days” and discussing which was the worst porno between this, 365 Days or Fifty Shades Of Grey and when I found out that the film (and bo... Read the full review »
