I’d never thought these words were gonna come out of my mouth, especially like this but......“Rise Of The Skywalker” might just be the 2019 equivalent of Attack Of The Clones. I’m not even making this up, this final installment is almost everything I didn’t like about the prequel trilogy let alone everything I don’t like about bad movies in general: it’s sloppy, it’s frustrating, it feels desperate and it lacks a lot of integrity. The editing is heavily choppy which adds no emotional impact to any of the scenes, I felt no emotion for any of the major characters that spent all of this trilogy building their arcs up, the film is butchered both in quality and content thanks to the plot having too much story in what was supposed to be a 4 hr movie, it jettisons and retcons most of the sub-plots built up from the previous movies, the final battle serves as one of the biggest WTF moments in Star Wars history and given that the monstrous backlash to The Last Jedi was responsible for making this movie exist in the first place, whatever kind of damage control they tried to run with within this runtime time to try and fix what many considered to be the problems, it was already too little too late.

Even as somebody who saw the appeal in The Last Jedi and managed to see the good in some of the bad that was presented, even I CAN’T recommend this final chapter to any Star Wars or non-Star Wars fans in attendance. At best, I was confused and at worst, I felt NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! In trying to both apologize to the fans and create a satisfying conclusion, Disney instead managed to mangle up and cripple everything that was special about this trilogy and the trilogy beforehand and because the film plays it WAY TOO SAFE, it not only comes out as bad fanfiction but also as a frustrating lack of imagination.

Even with its better than average acting and visually dazzling set-pieces, nobody gave a shit here.....so how can I do the same?
