28 Weeks Later is far superior to its predecessor but it's a completely different film. This is a horror. Again, it follows a group of survivalists but this film contains way more blood, infected civilians and jump scares (the good kind). The opening sequence is so memorable, and Robert Carlyle shines here...choosing his own life instead of his family, truly horrific. Not directed by Boyle, but he produced and the director tried to imitate his directing style...and I admired that! I just wish it was longer and that we had more back story for some of the characters.
