  Grave of the Fireflies is morbid, depressing and quite frankly soul draining. I felt nothing after watching this...however no man tears were produced! But that does not mean it's a bad film, in fact it's rather brilliant. It succeeded in what it set out to do, inform the audience of the devastation that war creates for the general population. It also highlights the importance of family bonds and sticking together. Great character development, beautiful animation and striking visual storytelling. I did have some issues with the English dub, but that is not the film's fault. Definitely recommended, but it's not a film you would want to watch again...
