Adam Wingard's The Woods is actually a sequel to The Blair Witch Project

In this day in age, it is very difficult for a film to keep large secrets under wraps, but Adam Wingard and the team behind The Woods managed to accomplish just that. The Woods, is actually a direct sequel to The Blair Witch Project (1999).

The big reveal was announced to a packed crowd at the first public screening of the film during San Diego Comic-Con.

My mind is blown by this news. Not only did Blair Witch (2016) film and screen under the false title, but it was fully marketed under the same false title. This was one of my most anticipated horror films of the year and with this news, I even more excited.

After the news broke, Lionsgate also released a new trailer for the film which you can watch below.
