Stanley Kubrick - Ranked

I've always described Kubrick as a silent-era director stuck in the world of 70s cynicism. His theatrical, satirical visual style harkens back to the early days, but his thematic stories are huge and contemporary in scope. He's not one of my favourite directors as his work often leaves much to be desired in the character department, but a Kubrick film is almost guaranteed to be brilliantly thought-provoking regardless.
