Flight is an excellent character study on a pilot who saved the lives of many on a broken airplane...however all is not what it seems. Robert Zemeckis directed this, so you know it's going to be a good old fashioned story film and it certainly is. Denzel Washington plays a complex character, very jaded and worn down in life. Great actor, this is a rather overlooked film in his filmography. Supporting cast is great also. Tackles topics such as drug abuse and alcoholism with care and sympathy. My problem however is that the pacing is ridiculously slow. After the initial flight scene, the film slowly becomes abit of a chore and I do struggle to stay interested. Buuuuut an excellent character study with solid performances.0 member like this review.
