This film has given me a lot. It is not a film I was impressed by but one I was thankful for.
The first date had been successful. Moving onto round two with shewhomustnotbenamed, so I needed a game changer, a trump card. The cinema! Paranormal Activity: the seven succubus of Salazar? I am a feeble victim of the jumpscare; not this time. Cherry Blossom Avenue, starring Helena Bonham Carter and Brendan Gleeson in a Pygmalion gender swap? Spare my tears; not for this occasion. What I need is something which one can watch and yet retain focus elsewhere.
Angel has fallen sounds perfect; two tickets booked!
So, thanks to Angel has fallen I had a wonderful date. The film? Well, when one can predict the 'lost father living in the forest with a plethora of traps set about in him in McCallister fashion' cliche from as early as 20 minutes into the film, you know what you have coming. Literally.
5/10, haven't seen the other two, maybe for a nostalgic date night.3 member like this review.
