  So......”Angry Birds Movie 2” can take the honor of being a SLIGHT improvement over its predecessor but that doesn’t mean it spreads its wings and fly away like it so desperately hopes to. While some aspects were drastically reduced, improved or outright changed, most of the factors that I didn’t like with the first film still carry over here. The humor still doesn’t get me despite clearly reaching to the demographic of the younger audience, characters are mostly static and don’t really change to benefit the plot (outside of the main protagonists and antagonist), story is just as paper-thin and see-through as before with such a generic structure and because of that, the film becomes bland, homogeneous, predictable and unenjoyable really quickly due to the lack of tension and suspense.
  
  Granted, the film is more focused on having a message this time around, animation is still bright and colorful and expressive, Leslie Jones kills her role as the by-the-numbers albeit relatable antagonist and I can applaud the movie for having a bit of fun with itself. Again, it’s childish and it’s stupid but it knows that and it rolls with it. But even with its tone and overly expressive nature, it still feels just as lazy in its execution as its predecessor did and as a kids movie, so much more could’ve been done here. There are much more entertaining and more wholly crafted pieces of work out there to appeal to all demographics but this right here could not get me to care.
