  • Trainspotting was groundbreaking in the 90's, both for British film and the choice of topic (although rather unconventional). To be honest, this has aged very well! I thought the characters were memorable with great performances all round. But what really elevates this film is Boyle's unique direction and the rather modern film style that he utilises...which is why it's aged so well. The topic is still relevant today and whilst this might have more of a comedic undertone, it still focusses on the negatives of drug taking and the addiction it can cause. Great soundtrack as well. Way too many memorable scenes though, I mean the "worst toilet in Scotland" and the baby on the ceiling just to name a few...this does steer away from the message and probably is abit too much. So if you haven't watched this, here's some advice: Choose Danny Boyle. Choose Trainspotting.
