Saving Private is my favorite war film of all time. The film has a certain sense of reassurance in it's own narrative and script that makes it a wonder to watch. Boasting extraordinary battle scenes that redefined what you could do in a war film, and great performances, particularly from Tom Hanks. Not to mention strong story telling. Saving Private Ryan is what a war film can be, and should be.
