  This film was over a decade in the making and it delivers on every moment we've had to wait in the first 5 minutes of the film. The opening scene immediately establishes Thanos as the most dangerous threat any of these characters have ever faced. No one in the film felt safe. Thanos is also arguably the best "villain" in the MCU. I have to put villain in quotes because the filmmakers and Josh Brolin did such a masterful job of establishing Thanos' motivations and making him both understandable and sympathetic. The ferocity and coldness in which Thanos carried out his plan made the hero's response and desperation palpable. One of the big things I was worried about was how character screen time was going to be balanced and while inherently some characters had to take a back seat to others it never felt as though any character was shortchanged.
  
  
  I only had two real issues with the film and they are minor nitpicks. The first, is that the film was a little long and it felt like there was about a few scenes that could have been trimmed down. My other critique is that the film does begin to lose some momentum in the middle of the second act but almost as soon as it does the third act begins and the paces picks right back up.
  
  
  Avengers: Infinity War was everything I hoped it would be. It is by far the darkest MCU so far bring us a villain that instantly is in the conversation of best of all-time. The way the Russo Brothers were able to bring all of these characters together and meld the tones of their individual movies is one of the most impressive feats of modern film making. For once I have absolutely no idea what is coming next in the MCU and I'm excited.
