Mark Kermode once famously juxtaposed Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey going “from the birth of man to the dawn of a new civilization” in just two and a half hours, to a particularly terrible film which somehow took longer to get “from point A, to point A.” Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel Foile a Duex achieves a similarly lacklustre feat, but, because it starts exactly where its predecessor finished, it doesn’t even have to get to point A...
