John Wick is back! The film brought everything we loved about the and made it even bigger. The thing I loved the most about the first film was the way the world was built and the mythology of that world. The film not only expanded the role of The Continental it gave us a look deeper into the organizations and rules that control this world of assassins. The best part of this film is all of the action pieces. I can't praise Reeves, Stahelski, and all of the members of the stunt team have put together a film that every action scene is great. With no unlimited ammo and invulnerability cheat codes and a fighting style that is consistent, the action feels more realistic than anything we've seen recently.

I only felt there were two somewhat minor shortfalls. The first of which was Ruby Rose. Her character felt cartoonish and extraneous to the story. The film would have functioned the same with or without her. My second negative about the film was the "Macguffin," for this movie didn't hold the same emotional connection. So I wasn't have invested in why John Wick was pulled back into the life he so desperately wanted to leave.

John Wick: Chapter 2 was an immensely enjoyable film. the action sequences were impeccable and the sound design was perfect. The believability of Keanu Reeve's performance and the stuntwork makes me want to see even more.
