  • Transporter Refuelled is an attempt to reboot the franchise. Can a new lead actor rejuvenate the series? No. Although Ed Skrein fits the role perfectly, Jason Statham he is not. Whilst this is marginally better than the third instalment, it still suffers from major issues. The overall editing of the combat and car chases are much much better, it's cleaner and refined. The locations and action set pieces are inventive and lovely to look at. I even enjoyed the bond between father and son! So what are the numerous problems? The story is formulaic and unmemorable. The villain is not villainous at all. The supporting cast members are abysmal. The whole film just felt bland, but strangely watchable. Like I said, an improvement from the third film but not by much.
