  • The Big Lebowski is the Coen's cult film. This has garnered lots of respect and adoration over the years from the film community. It's a comedy...as well as a mystery...oh and some crime...but don't forget that dash of drama...not to mention the arthouse dream sequences (which were fantastic by the way). My point is the film tries to be everything, and for me it just doesn't work all the time. It's tries to be outlandish and crazy funny just for the sake of it, but actually I think the script is clever enough without them. Jeff Bridges though...he really is "the Dude". John Goodman was also consistent, as expected. It's a darn watchable film, but if anything it just made me want to do some bowling...
