Spotlight is pure drama. It's heavy. It's full of investigation but most importantly, it's engaging. The script was magnificent, kept me fully involved with the film and how the Boston Globe reporters uncovered the molesting priests scandal back in 2002. It's a dark topic, it's not a fun film at all but it's an important watch. The cast were outstanding (particularly Mark Ruffalo) and the direction was solid. I wish we had more back story of the Spotlight team but it was good to focus on the new story.1 member likes this review.
