  • Morgan is a hybrid of Splice and Ex_Machina. The obvious philosophical and ethical debates of creating such a living organism, like Morgan, are explored...it's unfortunate they are not explored more. The psycho analysis scene was the best case of this, it was compelling and interesting. Then the film decides to be a thriller and slowly kill off a rather expendable cast. The cast is good, acting was serviceable for their purpose (but Anya Taylor-Joy was fantastic, she has a promising career) but the characters were lifeless and wooden. Many of the camera shots were majestic, especially those landscape shots! But of course this has action, so naturally there would be horrible quick cuts from the editing team to make the action frantic...but if anything it just made me feel ill. It might sound like I'm picking on this a lot, when actually I rather enjoyed it...but I can see why critics didn't. Also, I was completely 'meh' about Kate Mara in this...
