  Blue Jasmine is Cate Blanchett. Cate Blanchett is Blue Jasmine. She literally owned every scene she was in. The story is nothing new, rich socialite falls and relies on poorer family member to try and get back on her feet. But the dark comedic satire and the performances make this refreshing. I actually thought Sally Hawkins was just as good. I loved the setting and also appreciated the nice clean camerawork from Woody Allen. The film went along at a nice brisk pace so there were no issues there. Definitely worth checking out if you are into mature dramas.
