Taron Egerton once again commands the screen. He wonderfully holds his on on screen with all acting heavyweights of the cast. He was not only able to deliver with impeccable timing in the comedic moments but also in the heartfelt dramatic moments. Mark Strong gives the film one of the most emotional moments and provides some of the best laughs. The film and numerous moments where I laughed-out-loud including multiple moments from yet another kidnapped celebrity. Some of the other characters are over-the-top but it works and offers surprisingly accurate political commentary.

My biggest criticism of the film was that is was way too long. At a runtime of 2 hours 21 minutes, there were multiple scenes and plot lines that could have been cut without impacting the course of the film. Some of these were action scenes, which felt at times slightly frantic due to the hyperactive camera movement. Several of the characters Channing Tatums and Colin Firth specifically were underutilized. The arcs involving the Statesman as a whole were spare and left me wanting more.

Overall, Kingsman: The Golden Circle was not a good of a film as the first. But it was still a fun ride with great performances from the leads. I would definitely recommend fans of the first film go see this in the theater.
