The Neon Demon is definitely an exercise of style over substance. People might find that to be a bad thing, I for one think it really works for this film. The style tells so much of the story that words could not do. Fantastic performances from Elle Fanning and Jena Malone, in which the latter is in probably the most horrifying scene I've seen at a cinema. Was all the "extremes" necessary? Probably not, but it will definitely make you remember the film! A big big BIG plus is the musical score...holy wow it's euphoric. I spent half my time Shazamming the songs! This film is not for everyone...but for me, it's got a special place in my collection.
