  The Martian was my most disappointing film of 2015. That's not to say it's bad, in fact it's a very good film. Matt Damon is great, the science and technology used is smart and Ridley Scott is back in business. My problem was, I had a vision. I envisaged this to be the next great big sci-fi epic like Gravity or Interstellar, but it was way too safe. There were no thrills for me and first time round I was actually bored. I felt no danger for the main character or any of the supporting cast, just no "oh my God are they going to make it!?" moments. It's good, just not on the level of greatness.
