The world's our two protagonists travel through are other worldly. At time, one cannot tell where the bodies begin and the earth ends, as limbs meld with the earth.
The Homeric journey our characters go through is not long and weary but dreamlike and hazy. The illusion of a one-time film either makes the piece feel dreamlike or afraid.
Simplicity with seasoning, Mendes has created one of those rare films which has, not just a stellar surface level, but a fascinating underworld which can be pulled apart in anyway one chooses1 member likes this review.
