Darkest Hour is a truly extraordinary film. It brilliantly conveys the historical peril, and uncertainty of it's subject matter. Has truly steller direction, and some great dialogue.Though this films's core and greatest quality is the acting and performances in it. Most notably(of course) Gary is utterly unrecognizable, and simply flawless as Churchill. In most likely my favourite portrayal of this grand figure of history. Honestly, he needs to win an oscar this year. The film manages to humanize and add a level of poignancy Churchill in a new and intriguing way. Making him even more compelling as the film goes along. However, the supporting cast in this film are also amazing. Lily James and Stephen Dillane especially were incredible in this film. Altogether this movie is specatcular, and easily one of the best and one my favourite of 2017.
