Despite the predictable clichéd plot, "Son in Law" anyone, there was only one big flaw with the film. Pacing. In both the second and third acts it felt the movie was dragging on. Of course, there was the occasional joke that was juvenile and lowbrow but they were sporadic and were expected. My biggest initial concern was actually one of the highlights of the film. The chemistry between Franco and Cranston was organic, believably portraying the divided between generations. That withstanding, the funniest moments of the film belong to some of the ancillary characters. Megan Mullally gave some of the best laughs with her straight humor and perfect situational delivery. It's enough to make you want to go back and watch every episode of "Will & Grace". Keegan-Michael Key proves once again he can do know wrong as Laird's estate manager/bodyguard/only friend.

Despite the pacing issues and the plug-and-play plot, "Why Him?" was a solid film. It delivers exactly what was advertised and offers the best comedy option of the holiday season.
