Just when you think the world can’t get any darker or hypocritical for that matter, “Dark Waters” makes you open your eyes even wider. It isn’t just a film that tells us about one of the biggest companies in the world being a symbol of industry slime and the epitome of corporate greed, it’s also somewhat of an inspiration to other people to stand up to corporation and what we consider to be wrong, no matter how long or tedious the journey becomes. To be frank though, this powerful story wouldn’t have been anchored as well as it was if it wasn’t for Mark Ruffalos amazing performance banter as well as spine-tingling, uneasy cinematography, editing and it’s social commentary.

Films like this, where they make you wonder “Why haven’t I heard more about this?” is not only remarkable but it’s also rather terrifying in a sense because the fight is still going on. Stuff like this is actually happening; it’s STILL happening and I don’t really know if anybody’s doing anything to stop it aside from Bilott but DuPonts reckless greed has caught up with them one way or another. It doesn’t matter that they had to bond with another company and get rid of PFOA, they’re basically retracing their steps over again and it’s gotten to the point where one day, this decision to dump all this toxic chemical waste into our water and into our bodies isn’t just going to get them caught this time more then it’ll lead to them getting shut down and put out of business indefinitely.

So please take a bow, DuPont for all the lies you’ve told and the lives you’ve ruined, you dumb dumb greedy dumb bastards.
