In this home invasion “thriller” where some nasty criminals infiltrate a marijuana farm and attempt to steal the farm's hidden profits, you ain’t gonna find much green in “Green Rush” rather than just mulch, dogshit and triceratops testicles. All the acting is wooden and unmemorable with cinematography that feels metronomic and static, slipshod editing, dialogue that feels rushed, and some everyday twists and turns that left me more confused than invested. Gerard Roxburgh's direction is misguided, stalling, bloated and indicatively annoying because while the foundation of a story is here, this ‘story’ about greed, strained brotherhood, and the inkling of bud legalization is never built up to reach any inkling of importance whatsoever, similar to all these stereotypical characters. It’s not being smart about the subjects it talked about and when movies like this try to serve as social commentary and play it off like what they’re saying is the second coming of Christ, it doesn’t come off as genuine in the slightest.
They were bothered to have every character explain their motivations for doing something so why couldn’t they do the same for all the other plot-threads they just up and forgot about? You get no believability out of the storyline for it being ‘a true story’, the production values are abysmal, everybody pauses and delay things for no reason and just like Sandy said: “Stupidity isn’t a virus but it sure is spreading like one.”

At this point in time, every other movie out there based on a true story have to take notes yet again: THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO IT. This is not a thriller, this is not an action film, it damn sure doesn’t serve as social commentary and honestly, it feels like my suspension of disbelief was taken for granted here. How am I supposed to believe this actually happened?
