Michael Rooker stole the film as Yandu. Expanding is role from the first film, Rooker's performance makes Yandu a likable character that the audience can connect to emotionally. In particular the scenes with Rocket in which the have the best chemistry in the film. This film continues to bring the comedy that was present in the first. Baby Groot was predictably adorable and provide some laughs but the best laughs were all deliver by Drax (Dave Bautista).

The movie doesn't flow. There's was very little narrative structure. This cause the pacing to feel rushed in the third act. There are a few truly impactful dramatic moments but the humor sometimes detracts from them. The story doesn't balance between character story arcs. While Peter Quill and Yandu are well developed, the other characters are underused. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) doesn't really have anything to do until the third act. One of the biggest missed opportunities is that Drax THE DESTROYER outside of the opening scene has ZERO action scenes. The secondary antagonists in the film felt unnecessary and at times felt like that annoying fly that won't get out of your face.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is an enjoyable film. Bringing the same quality action and action from the first combined with quality performances from Michael Rooker and Kurt Russell. But the film isn't perfect. The pacing felt uneven and it almost feels like the movie doesn't really take off until the third act. Overall, whether you were a fan of the first or not I would recommend you go see it
