  • Nerve is one of those rare hidden gems. A film that isn't an adaptation, sequel, reboot or remake...it is original (to an extent). I loved the gimmick of being a watcher or player, it felt very relevant in today's society with social networking particularly with the recent viral challenges. It does raise the question, are we responsible for encouraging people to take the risks and consequences just by watching these kinds of videos and sharing them? For that I have to give the story and screenplay massive props! Acting was serviceable, nothing special and I did feel Emma Roberts was slightly monotonous. I loved the neon style, nice clean camerawork and also appreciated the hacking...making "Nerve" an open source program was a good decision. The momentum did slow towards the end but I was thrilled throughout and enjoyed it immensely.
