  I don’t wanna jump to conclusions here but if “Butt Boy” is not the worst rectal-kink detective noir/addiction drama/supervillain origin story ever made, then I’d be flabbergasted to figure out what really is. I don’t know whether to give this to a doctor to examine or a priest to exercise. Not only is the movie horribly written, awkwardly acted, borderline tedious with the sloppy camerawork and pacing doing nothing to alter the story, not to mention with a plot that, within itself is so self-serious and self-righteousness about its absurd gimmick that it’s both an exercise in madness and patience, it completely ruins what could’ve been a rather intriguing albeit surreal movie-going experience because of the lack of cheesiness, humor and fun that this story was practically built for. But on top of all that, it‘s just NOT FUNNY! All of the attempts at deadpan humor falls heavily flat with the fart jokes taking over most of the show and not to mention, the films final act is so eye-rollingly silly and predictably scatalogical at the same time, I had to remind myself that my suspension of disbelief completely faded away a full 45 minutes before I even got there. I literally gave NO SHITS.⁣

  The film spirals nastily towards rock bottom once the tone pits itself against the intended direction of the movie and it’s like a giant tug of war only with nobody winning. Suspension of disbelief in these movies can only go so far especially if you’re having it collide with a tone that doesn’t co-elign with the premise and gimmick you choose but apparently Tyler Cornick didn’t take any notes there. It’s boring, it’s slow, it’s cringeworthy, very sloppy, not really well thought out, relatively TASTE-DEAF and at the very worst, it’s something I’m probably not going to revisit again. ⁣
