Lost in Translation...I'm lost for words. This film blew me away! Yes yes yes yes yes! My first Sofia Coppola film and I can safely say it's quite the masterpiece. The cast is charismatic, likeable and extremely relatable. Bill Murray nailed it, but it's Scarlett Johansson's character that really brings the film together. I love the mature romance the characters develop...it's not typical "Hollywood" and felt very tangible, very real! The screenplay was deserved of the awards it got, quite simply sublime and the camera shots...the majority of them were absolute perfection. A great insight into the Japanese culture of Tokyo and the film did well as distinguishing how the characters has to adjust to this new culture. I love Japan so possibly I'm biased, but this film gets the rare full marks from me. Ladies and gentleman, it gets a 10/10. Plus, the only film I've seen to show a "Taiko no Tatsujin" arcade machine...literally the best game ever.
