Children of Men is a visceral depressing cinematic masterpiece. Words cannot describe the emotions I went through watching this...this...this beauty! The world is somehow infertile, the UK is culling immigrants and the world has gone to meltdown. The scary thing is, it's done so realistically that this could actually happen (given the current political climate in the UK). Alfonso Cuaron is possibly my favourite director, he never lets me down. The one long take in the rebel camp...I was in awe. I could literally talk about every scene. Clive Owen gave a real, understated performance. But the technical aspects outshine the narrative and acting...which isn't a bad thing. Go watch this now. Like right now.
