A Bigger Splash is an erotic psychological adult drama. There's something about this film that had me on edge. Whether it was Dakota Johnson's character, the pure jealousy within the group or the location itself...there was an underlying creepy tone that just enhanced my intrigue for the story. The acting was superb, Ralph Fiennes stole the show and perhaps missed out on some Award nominations because he was sublime. I liked how the narrative shifted between each of the four characters, one scene would focus on Fiennes and another on Swinton. The eroticism being portrayed and the lustful jealousy just made the group dynamic tangible. It took me a while to get into the film, and I'm sure there are more subtexts hidden within...and this is definitely not for everyone. But, a mature adult drama with a great third act...give it a try!
