The Terminator (DUN DUN DA DUN DUN) is the beginning to one of the most famous sci fi franchises of all time. Quite rightly so, this was ground breaking for its time. The effects were great and you can tell it borrowed heavily on Blade Runner, the prosthetic and makeup was extremely well put together and to be honest this has aged very well indeed. Schwarzenegger might not be a good actor, but he has screen presence and he embraces the role...I mean he IS the Terminator! This is a solidly directed film, it might play by the numbers but what do you expect from an 80's sci fi that no one knew would be the start of something great. I'm going to need to watch the second one now...
