The problem with "Passengers" is that the movie doesn't know what it wants to be. The first two acts of the film focus on the relationship between Jim and Aurora. As it moves into the third act the filmmakers try to turn "Passengers" into a captiv... Read the full review »

If you were hoping for "Assassin's Creed" to be the savior of video game-based films, I hate to break it to you it's not. This movie was a heaping steaming flaming pile of human excrement. The biggest problem with the film is that there was almost... Read the full review »

Despite the predictable clichéd plot, "Son in Law" anyone, there was only one big flaw with the film. Pacing. In both the second and third acts it felt the movie was dragging on. Of course, there was the occasional joke that was juvenile and lowb... Read the full review »

Despite having a wide-ranging and talented vocal cast the film as whole falls a bit flat. The plot is unoriginal and the script is lackluster with jokes that frequently fall flat. I didn't laugh until well into the second act of the film. With tal... Read the full review »

There are only two small flaws in the film. The first is somewhat unavoidable with biopics. The drama at the focus for each of these women emanates from their careers, but in order for the audience to connect to them, the career friction has to be... Read the full review »

If anyone was hoping that this would be the film to rejuvenate the Underworld franchise I sorry to break it to you, it won't. Unfortunately, this film does not bring us more of the awe and action that gained the original its cult following. It sim... Read the full review »

Anya Taylor-Joy gives a great performance as Casey. The way each of the girls reacts to their abduction and the decisions they make in attempts to escape showcases the different personalities of each character. McAvoy shines in an Oscar caliber pe... Read the full review »

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can say in favor of this film. A combination of cliche horror tropes, amateur level editing, plot holes, a worthless screenplay, and a plot twist that renders Alice's journey through the past five films irrelevant... Read the full review »

I always try to find positives when I watch a film. For this film, is was hard but, I found two. The first of which is unlike the first film, Jamie Dornan made Christian Grey an interesting character. In the first film, Dornan felt like a blank ca... Read the full review »

John Wick is back! The film brought everything we loved about the and made it even bigger. The thing I loved the most about the first film was the way the world was built and the mythology of that world. The film not only expanded the role of The... Read the full review »

The only good thing about this film was the character progression of Campbell. He starts the film as a sniveling coward and at the end of the film he learns to stand up for himself. Although sometimes it was erratic, several times when you thought... Read the full review »

This film was a surprising first outing for Jordan Peele. One of my biggest criticisms of horror films of late is the reliance on stereotypical tropes. While Get Out does have a few jump scares it doesn't rely on them it allows the psychological t... Read the full review »

This is the Wolverine movie we have all been waiting for. The film begins as sort of a slow burn with a pace that fluctuates between break-neck action and a reserved family dinner. It may seem inconsistent to some yet, overall emotional payoff sho... Read the full review »

This movie is about a team and if the team didn't work the movie won't work. The chemistry of the team felt natural and believable. That being said, there were still multiple standout performances. Even though the movie is about the team RJ Cyler... Read the full review »

Who is the best director working today?

I am not sure if I can pick a single favorite. I do agree with Denis Villeneuve though, he is my favorite newer director. I will also toss out David Fincher he has consistently stayed at the top of my list over the years. View the full reply »

I can see why some don't like this film. It is very different from the other Alien films, but I really enjoyed it. Some of the of the story was confusing while I was watching, but it all came together in the end. I can't wait to see Alien: Covenant. Read the full review »

Who is the best director working today?

I adore the work of Denis Villenueve, everything he makes is so methodical and captivating, he is one of the best, and by far the most consistent directors today. I'm also a huge fan of the Coen brothers, as well as Tarantino, but I think if I was... View the full reply »
