Amal Neerad (born October 7, 1976) is an Indian filmmaker, cinematographer, and producer primarily associated with Malayalam cinema. He is known for his unique visual style, often characterized by slow-motion shots, striking cinematography, and a dark, moody aesthetic. Amal Neerad made his directorial debut with Big B (2007), starring Mammootty, which became a cult classic in Malayalam cinema.
As a cinematographer, Amal Neerad has worked in various Indian film industries, including Bollywood, where he contributed to the visual styles of movies like James (2005) and Black (2005). Over the years, he has established himself as a director with a flair for stylish action sequences and larger-than-life characters, working with many of the industry's top stars. Some of his notable directorial works include: Big B (2007), Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009), Iyobinte Pusthakam (2014), Varathan (2018) and Bheeshma Parvam (2022)
He is also involved in producing films through his production company Amal Neerad Productions.
