Whilst Lhurmann may have been the right man to bring the world around Elvis to life, perhaps someone more interested in the emotional complexities of people would have been better suited to tell the story of his incredibly complex personal life. As it is, Elvis makes for a great show that gets its context right, it just isn’t particularly open to introspection.
