I'd heard bad things about this film but I tried to go in with an open mind. Honestly, the first half of the film is forgivable. Sure, it doesn't make much sense, it's not very scary, character motivations are all over the shop and it just feels off. But it wasn't painful. The only thing that really bothered me was Regan. It seems to me that Regan was fine until the Priest and psychiatrist intervene. Some nightmares here and there but nothing like we saw in the first installment. Despite this, it is forgivable.

It's when we travel to Africa that the film goes haywire. You know it's bad when the sight of James Earl Jones makes you frown. After this point, the film becomes a splatter of ridiculous locust motifs, random hypnosis, and the most anticlimactic climax ever.

This film was overall, immensely disappointing. It doesn't even stand in the shadow of the first behemoth in the series. Instead, it hides in a corner, ashamed to even look the first installment in the face.
