  • Very rarely do I walk out of the theater angry that I wasted my time with a film. Carrie was one of those times. The movie is an unnecessary remake of the vastly superior 1976 classic which seems to blend scenes from the original (I could literally quote parts of the movie as they were happening because the dialogue was lifted directly from the original) as well as its sequel The Rage: Carrie 2. The only bright spot about this film is Julianne Moore who gives a decent performance as Carrie’s mother. But when Piper Laurie already immortalized the role in the original, any actor would have fallen short. This remake was completely unnecessary and not that great on its own merits.
