(SPOILER ALERT) Inception is the film everyone knows at this point, whether you've seen it or not. The idea of taking ideas from dreams is downright crazy on paper yet succeeds on paper. Christopher Nolan provides what is arguably the most original film of the year. The display of every dream sequence is stunning. The big sell is a fight scene that centers in a highway but with zero gravity. Hans Zimmer provides an outstanding score along with the rest of his movie in general. Leonardo DiCaprio's Dom Cobb is the kind of character you root for: A man wrongfully accused willing to do anything to get back home and for him, he has steal someone's idea from a dream. The death of Mal is without a doubt tragic mainly due to the discovery that it was a suicide jump and that she framed her own husband; this situation transpired because she believed she wasn't awake yet. While other characters throughout the film such as Eames, Arthur, and Ariadne are interesting, we can't help but be more focused on the arc of Dom Cobb. Whether you believe Dom is either sleeping or is awake by the end of the film, you can't help but be satisfied that he has some kind of happy ending.
