PEPPERMINT is a pretty run of the mill shoot-em-up film. It has moments of horrible dialogue, has a stereotypical bad guy crew, and a mostly predictable story. But with that said, I still had a hell of a lot of fun with PEPPERMINT.

The main reason I enjoyed this film is because of Jennifer Garner's character. This is a true return to form for Garner and anyone who was a fan of ALIAS should be able to have fun with this film. Garner's Riley North is a true badass which results in some pretty sick action scenes. My person favorite was a big gun fight that took place in a Piñata warehouse.

Other than the three run of the mill downsides to this film I mentioned above, I also wanted to mention that I think the writers focused on the wrong bad guys. The first half of the film focuses on the men who directly shot her family, a dirty lawyer who tries to buy her silence, and a dirty judge who was paid off to dismiss the case. After Riley disappears to train and become a badass, I was fully expecting those same players to be the people she gets revenge on, and while she does, the film doesn't show it. Of all of the people mentioned above, the film only shows Riley getting payback on one of them. The others are just mentioned in passing as being dead. Instead, the film focuses on the mob boss figure who really didn't have much to do with her families death. I would have much more enjoyed seeing her get revenge on the people we saw who were directly related to the death of her family.
