Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin are the seasoning which boosts this mixing bowl of Green Book, RainMan, and every 80s buddy cop movie ever. With a groovy, funky BeeGees score by Danny Elfman, this buddy comedy is good fun and serves the audience with a solid dish. Nothing fancy, just good solid food.

Jack Walsh (Robert De Niro) is an ex-cop bounty hunter. When he's told about Jonathon Mardukas (Charles Grodin), an accountant who embezzled 15 million dollars from the mafia, he is told to bring him back to L.A. before midnight at the end of the week. But, Mardukas seems to be a golden goose that everybody wants a part of, leading to a tumultuous journey.

This film plays out like your typical road-trip/buddy cop movie. De Niro and Grodin play of each other well in both moments of tension and charm. In the background are a whole host of sleazy characters from Jimmy Serrano (Dennis Farina) to the weasly Eddie Moscone (Joe Pantoliano). With lots of fun action set pieces, the comedy is a lot of fun. IN regards to that, comedy, they throw a lot of stuff at the wall and most of it sticks. Some gags are good fun, some seem tame. It is in De Niro and Grodin's interactions where the real humour is born.
