  • Sally Field, looking young at heart in pastel colors and fabulous cat-eye glasses once again brings life to her quirky, odd but sexy character in "Hello, My Name is Doris". And truly, her magnetic performance is the biggest selling point to the audience, whether young or old. She is joined by talented actors Max Greenfield, Wendi McLedon-Covey, Beth Behrs and Tyne Daly.

Field delivers her performance with such humor to find the humanity within her role. She is able to make the central character feel quirky and at the same time heartfelt by the impact of her comedic and dramatic core. And while Field is a breakthrough in the film, the same thing also goes to the supporting actors, all of whom are funny and delightful in their roles.

The plot is where Hello, My Name is Doris disappoints. It consists of three storylines involving her love-life, family and friends, which do not always tie together as a complete whole. Sometimes, the movie also gets too formulaic to some aging romantic comedies.

VERDICT: The two-time Academy Award winning Actress has turned a quirky and occasionally hilarious comedy into a touching and serviceable character study.
