  • WHAT I LIKED: There is certainly some engagement to be unlocked here when it comes to the journey of our lead characters, as the story itself is rather interesting and the performances certainly have their high-points where real chemistry is felt and genuine sensation is brought about alongside its fantastical visuals.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Overall though, 'Everything Everything's script fails to treat the audience with the level of intelligence they deserve as it constantly explains away things that we could easily discover and engage with ourselves. That may be a symptom of the target audience the film is clearly aiming at, but unsurprisingly judging by the reactions of those individuals in my theatre, they too deserve better. As a result of its approach then, not only is the experience often exceedingly frustrating - the eventual twist is so boringly predictable it does rather humble the film for thinking it's got us remotely surprised.
VERDICT: It may be fairly appealing at times, but unfortunately 'Everything Everything's is one of those films that relentlessly spells everything out to its audience. Oh how ironic...
