  WHAT I LIKED: 'Luca,' is a lovely animation about two outcast young boys making their dreams a reality and becoming accepted in the world.
  
  Specifically, they're mermaids who dream of a life of the surface, but everyone in the little Cinque Terre town they end up in is terrified of sea creatures. They hide themselves and make a friend who they enter the village's annual triathlon with, all with the hope of being able to buy a Vespa to escape on. Various folks risk finding them out, but when they're eventually exposed, everyone accepts their difference and we get a happy ending.
  
  That's a lovely story about acceptance, and it's buoyed by a great couple of character arcs about friendship, and lots of (literal) fish-out-of-water humour.
  
  WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It's nothing particularly ground-breaking, but it's a lovely film.
  
  VERDICT: 'Luca,' is a great animation from Pixar with some great characters and a universal message of acceptance.
