    AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
(Anthony Russo / Joe Russo, 2018)
    _______________
    Story:
The Russos did it. They managed to throw 472 characters into a single movie and somehow balance it out perfectly. The arrogance of Tony Stark, the weirdness of the Guardians, Spider-Mans cheeky humor... And one of the most epic villains in recent years. Thanos is a deeply layered villain and brings a surpring amount of depth to this movie. Would you actually “trade lives“? The script is full of humor, twists and emotions. Amazing!

    Style:
Well, ten years of filmmaking culminate in one of the most expensive movies of all time... And we can see every penny. The visual effects are close to perfection, the motion capturing is top notch and the worlds created are memorable. And everyone who's criticising the cinematogtaphy in the MCU: Just watch the scene on Vormir. That's damn good camera work. The Avengers score gave me chills a few times and the way they introduced the Guardians was pure perfection. From a technical point of you, Infinity War will be the benchmark for ALL upcoming blockbusters!

    Entertainment:
Do I really need to talk about entertainment? As I said before, the Russos managed to mix all the different kinds of humor together, the character constellations alone are worth watching the film. It's freaking hilarious. But still, there are many scenes that scream “Epic!“, as well as some actually touching moments. Also, the action is amazing. The way they combine the different powers (“Magic with a kick!“) or add new features to the characters is just pure fun. If you don't enjoy watching this film, there's probably something wrong with you.

    Conclusion:
This movie will be the blueprint for every future blockbuster. Years of hard work end in an almost perfect blockbuster. What? Almost? I can't give this film the perfect grade... It just feels like there would have been the potential to dig a little deeper on the philosophical topics and a few characters get lost in the pure mass of heroes. I'm sure, that those will play bigger roles in Avengers 4, but I'm not judging the future. Infinity War is the definition of a summer blockbuster. And that's a good thing.
