Brooding and bubbling with quiet dread, Under The Skin wins the award for perfect title. Watching the film feels irreversible, as if everything has changed. Or perhaps must change.

Don't be mistaken, the film isn't preaching any message. In fact, I'm not even sure there's a message at all. Jonathan Glazer understands perfectly the visual USP of film. Words are spare in Under the Skin, with the film's plot being told through all the essentials of film: acting, cinematography and confident direction.

The piece is profoundly disturbing, cruelly beautiful and tantalisingly twisted. It is in no way a film for everyone but it feels like everyone should see it.
