I honestly think from day one I've had this dream last night about watching this movie and after I did that I'm going to review it. This is going to be the first time reviewing a Netflix film that was nominated for Academy Awards. They do carry the awkwardness that just enough people who saw them they'll love them or hate them. Every aspect is very similar in between but also this one has mixed reviews by critics and many people who saw it they love it and it had a stellar cast in this. We got like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep and many more. But now whilst I'm doing this, this is my dream come true. Two astronomers, Dr. Randall Mindy and Kate Dibiasky played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, attempting to warn humanity about a comet that will destroy human civilization. They met the President of the United States, Janie Orlean played by Meryl Streep, to help them do something about it. Dr. Teddy Oglethorpe urges the two to leak the news to the media and they do so by appearing on a morning talk show. So this movie had a comedic serious tone to it that is to say that it is a comedy film with some sci-fi elements to it but it adds in a lot of drama. Meryl Streep is fantastic as always along with Cate Blanchett. Once I heard about one of those movies from Netflix earned some Oscar winners and nominations at the Academy Awards I was actually surprised. Granted the fact that back in 2019 The Irishman and Marriage Story were at the Oscars. Now that I've seen Don't Look Up I actually enjoyed it. The story is well written, great editing, good performances from the cast and the film can have some comedic lines. "One time, I met Sting, and I swear to God, he farted right in front of me. Didn't break eye contact and didn't even say excuse me." (Chuckles) That had me laughing when I first heard it. I am so proud that I reviewed it when I first dream about thinking about it and you know what? The dream has finally come true. So yeah, I enjoyed Don't Look Up and I know it's not the end of the world. Give it a watch and see what you thought of it. Plus, don't forget to watch through the end credits and after credits, there will always be a surprise.
